Well, I know it has been a long time since I have updated this blog but things are kind of on hold for now.
I did go and speak with Mr. Terrell, an attorney at church, and he says that I need to incorporate before I start operating.  Unfortunately, I am in arrears on my federal student loans so to protect the business I have to incorporate and make my husband the stockholder.
In the meantime, I intend to go ahead and consult a CPA to make sure that I do things properly from the start.  I picked up a lot of literature from the IRS office and have been trying to read through all of that.  Talk about making your head spin!  That is why a good accountant is invaluable.
We have also been looking at portable buildings to use as a workshop and storage for the craft end of the business.  Wow!  They are expensive.  The one we really like is almost $4,000.  It would be an excellent investment though so we are going to shop around and see if we can get one on a payment plan.
On my long to-do list is to organize all my photos so that when I start selling those or making items from them they will be readily accessible and organized.  I have to learn how to use Picasa.  I know someone that uses that program and they really like it.  I want to not only sell the framed photos but make stationery, calendars and the like.
I am currently trying to master this webpage and blogging with mixed success.  I got frustrated with it and had to just leave it alone for awhile.  So, here I am trying and trying again, LOL.  I need to start tweeting again to get some traffic directed my way too.  Hopefully, I will get some constructive feedback.
The other tedious task I have is getting my desk, filing and business paperwork/plans etc. organized in folders and filed properly.  I am notorious for working from piles and I spend too much time looking for things that I need.  I am truly a dual personality gemini...I am either compulsively organized or totally a mess.  There never seems to be a happy medium.
Thank you for your interest in our grand endeavor.  Sharing our progress helps me stay on track and I hope it encourages you to keep following your dreams too.  I am not worried about slow progress.  It is important to me to do things right and to be sensitive to God's will concerning our lives.
God bless you and we shall chat again soon!
